Dr. Superko has been involved with atherosclerosis research for over 35 years, at the University of California-Davis, Stanford University, and the University of California-Berkeley. He has published over 130 first-authored manuscripts and 17 text book chapters, conducted numerous federally funded research trials and served on American College of Cardiology and American Heart Association committees. His current focus is on the clinical utility of genetic testing to improve risk prediction and predict individual response to lifestyle and pharmaceutical treatments. This includes the use of genetic tests to help identify patient subgroups that respond, to a greater or lesser degree, to specific therapeutic interventions that result in a differential effect on clinical outcomes.
