Summary:
Organize and implement educational programs (workshops, group health and
wellness series, community lectures) specific to needs as identified by
Clinical Educator, patients and local physicians. Provide important first
point-of-service connection with patients and clients through telephone and
face-to-face contact in a courteous, friendly and professional manner that
imparts a favorable first and lasting impression.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Coordinate patient education offerings, by working in conjunction with
clinical educator’s assessment of regional interest, including
those based around Berkeley’s disease management focus.
- Develop and maintain relationships with co-workers and support
personnel within the Berkeley Corporation.
- Conduct outreach activities, building relationships with individuals
and groups.
- Recruit and work with consultants and volunteers.
- Possess ability to educate physicians, patients or other guests
regarding 4myheart Center offerings and focus.
- Provide coverage of the reception area with a pleasant and professional
presence in greeting all guests.
- Provide clerical duties as follows:
- Answer and direct calls in a professional and efficient manner,
documenting and distributing information to appropriate person
in legible manner.
- Process faxes and incoming mail or special deliveries.
- File data and perform other routine clerical tasks as assigned
for other departments as needed including accurately completing
and maintaining administrative documents and records.
- Create and maintain a filing system containing patient’s
personal information such as test results, initial evaluation,
etc.
- Order and maintain relevant office supplies for effectiveness
of personal duties and duties of other staff members as well as
daily operations.
- Operate a variety of standard office machines, including a
personal computer and a variety of computer software, phone,
fax, calculator, shredding machine and photocopy machine.
- Schedule patients for classes, blood draws and visits with
Clinical Educator.
- Obtain test reports, physician reports or other pertinent
patient information as needed.
- Type memos, letters, reports, forms as needed.
- Possess knowledge of billing issues associated with Berkeley testing.
- Help maintain a high level of security and privacy for patients
participating in Center programs.
- Maintain HIPAA requirements and other relevant clinical and/or patient
care regulations, policies, procedures and standards.
- Accept other duties and special projects as assigned associated within
scope of job.
Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree is preferred.
- Self-starter who works well in a team-oriented environment and interacting with people.
- Skill in operating computer and computer-based programs.
- Experience in community-based program management and education.
- Minimal 2 years experience in similar job position.
- Superior customer service
- Self-motivated, results-oriented with a positive outlook
- Handle multiple tasks and customers with efficiency
- Effective and proficient communication skills, both written and verbal
- Ability to effectively integrate Berkeley internal and external resources.
- Pursue personal development of skills and knowledge necessary for the effective performance of the role.
